Natural treatment for muscle pain

Muscle pain is a very common problem and can have many causes. Typically, people are advised to apply ice or heat to the affected area to reduce inflammation, swelling, and pain relief, depending on the type of injury and duration of symptoms. However, there are excellent options for natural treatments for muscle pain that can be prepared at home with low cost and very practical.

Some examples are: 

1. Vinegar compress

A good natural treatment for muscle pain is to apply a vinegar compress to the painful area, as vinegar helps to remove excess lactic acid that has formed, being very useful, especially after physical exercises.

Ingredients

  • 2 spoons of vinegar
  • Half a glass of warm water
  • cloth or gauze

Preparation mode

Put 2 tablespoons of vinegar in half a glass of warm water. Then apply this solution in the form of a compress made with a cloth or gauze, in the painful region.

2. Massage oil

The ingredients used in this home remedy stimulate circulation and help prevent the stiffness that occurs after a muscle injury.

Ingredients

  • 30 ml of almond oil
  • 15 drops of  rosemary essential oil
  • 5 drops  peppermint essential oil

Preparation mode

Mix the oils in a dark glass bottle, shake well and apply on the affected muscle. Massage gently, using circular motions and without pressing too hard to avoid injuring the muscle even more. This procedure should be done every day until the pain subsides.

3. Cinnamon tea 

Cinnamon tea with mustard seeds and fennel is rich in anti-inflammatory substances that will help fight muscle pain caused by physical fatigue or excessive physical activity.

Ingredients

  • 1 spoon of cinnamon stick
  • 1 spoon of mustard seeds
  • 1 spoon of fennel
  • 1 cup of boiling water (tea)

Preparation mode

Add the cinnamon, mustard seeds and fennel to the cup of boiling water and cover. Let it rest for 15 minutes, strain and drink. The recommended dose is just 1 cup of this tea a day.
